E J Davis Aesthetics was officially established in 2007 as one guy (me) in a garage. Back then the goal was essentially to make a living as a solo fabricator and create functional works of art that would last a lifetime.

Prior to launching into the wild world of custom fabrication I worked in the marketing and advertising industry as a corporate creative. Much of my design and organizational process is rooted in that world of computer generated imagery and I still use a lot of the same software to present my work to clients. But I have to say I don’t miss the desk job one bit.

I when decided I wanted to take the leap of faith and go off on my own to make things for a living, I took a couple of classes in welding and blacksmithing and I took a job as a welder in an industrial fabrication shop. After getting injured on the job I took the insurance money and promptly threw myself into running a business making what ever I could — wrought iron gates and railings and sometimes fixing trucks and broken stuff when I needed cash. I largely taught myself by fire and I have done my fair share of learning the hard way, both in business and in life. Still, through all the hard stuff, what endures is the will to create amazing work that lasts…So I keep going.

Today, I’m proud to say that over the past 17 year our clients have included artists, designers, architects, builders, real estate developers, restauranteurs, art galleries, corporations, ad agencies and homeowners.

We specialize in custom furnishings and one-of-a-kind pieces that are focal points of inspired spaces in public and in our client’s homes and businesses.

These days, E. J. Davis Aesthetics isn’t too much bigger than it was back when it started and most importantly, we’re still having fun, making amazing things for our amazing clients, by hand and with love!
