Massive: Coffee Table

This truly Massive coffee table was commissioned by and old friend and art patron out in Oakland CA. We offered several design options before we quickly landed on this approach.

The 15” x 15” x 40” salvaged timbers are through bolted with four 1” stainless threaded rod to a 10” x 15” x 40” steel box and framed with 5” steel straps. The fabricated steel elements are 1/4” thick to hold the weight and mass of the timbers and to keep with the visual weight of the entire piece…all 450lbs of it!
